Summary

eXtendMobile has the ability to classify functions into groups, making it easy to filter and access functions based on a group.

Configuration Details

NetSuite Configuration

When you install eXtendMobile, a custom record type called eXtendMobile Function Groups is added to NetSuite. To create and associate new function groups with your functions:
  1. Add new records of the eXtendMobile Function Groups type by creating the associated records in NetSuite.

Tip: With a function created to do so, you can create new eXtendMobile Function Groups records directly within the eXtendMobile app, bypassing the need to log in to the NetSuite user interface.

Assigning a Function Group to a Function

  1. When creating or updating a function, navigate to the Function Display Settings section.
  2. Tap the Function Group option to list all available function groups.

  3. Select a function group to associate it with the function.
Note: If no function group is selected, the function will be considered uncategorized.

Filtering Functions Based on Function Groups

  1. In the eXtendMobile app, there is an option to define a Function Group filter.

  2. After selecting the function group, navigate back to the eXtendMobile home screen to see only the functions within the selected group.
  3. There are two dynamic options always available: Uncategorized and All Groups.
    • Uncategorized: Shows all functions that do not have a group assigned.
    • All Groups: Shows all functions, regardless of their group assignment. This is the default filter

Additional Notes

  1. Assigning function groups to functions and filtering by group is only available for eXtendMobile Admin roles. Standard eXtendMobile user roles do not have access to this feature. For more details, see Creating eXtendMobile Roles.
  2. If a function contains a linked function assigned to a different function group, it will not work when a function group filter is applied. In this case, select All Groups in the function group filtering to make the target function available. This issue does not apply to eXtendMobile user roles, as they do not have access to function group filtering.
