Version: eXtendOrders 2.1.95 and above
Audience: Administrator, User

Overview

eXtendOrders lets you calculate pricing based on the total quantity of all variants of a single item, even if those variants come in different sizes or colors. This means you can charge customers based on their overall order volume rather than the individual quantities of each specific variant.

Prerequisites

This feature is available in versions 2.1.95 and above. Below are the configuration steps required to use it:

  1. Navigate to eXtendTech → eXtendOrders → eXtendOrders Setup
  2. Under the Additional Settings subtab, enable SHOW CALCULATE PRICE BUTTON ON MODAL to turn on this feature

Note: This feature is not available for Supplier Edition. In Supplier Edition, pricing is not displayed on the eXtendOrder configurator, making this feature inapplicable. If the Supplier Edition option is selected during setup, the SHOW CALCULATE PRICE BUTTON ON MODAL option will be automatically unchecked (if previously checked) and disabled.

Usage

When creating orders using the eXtendOrders Configurator UI, in the item selection modal, you will find a Calculate Price button.

Calculating Aggregate Pricing

When you click this button after adding items in the modal, the aggregated quantity-based pricing updates for all variants of the same parent item.

If you have variants from different parent items, the aggregated pricing will update separately for each parent item's variants, based on their own combined quantities.

How It Works

  • When the Calculate Price button is clicked, prices for the item variants update based on their combined total quantity.
  • The calculation uses the quantity pricing table specified on each individual item variant's record.
  • For instance, if you add three variants of the same parent item, each with a quantity of 20, the system aggregates these to a total of 60.
  • The price applied to each of those individual item variants will be determined by the pricing tier in their respective quantity pricing tables that corresponds to a quantity of 60.
  • Pricing may differ across item variants even for the same aggregated quantity if their individual quantity pricing tables have different price breaks.
  • Price level consideration for item pricing update will be based on NetSuite's customer pricing considerations.
  • If a target GP% is specified in your eXtendOrders configuration and item pricing sourcing is not enabled, when Calculate Price button is clicked, the cost and price are sourced from the item record and updated on the items. The target GP% will be overwritten.
