Use-Case

  • Generate Request for Quote (RFQ) for pre-item records (PIR) records.

Steps

Open an existing PIR Record and follow the below steps for creating RFQ records from PIR record.
If you do not yet have a PIR Record, then refer to this article for details regarding the creation of PIR record.

  1. To generate RFQ records for your Vendors, mark the checkbox GENERATE RFQ as checked / true and Save the PIR Record. Note: depending on the configuration implemented by your NetSuite Administrator there may be a Button for this function instead.

  2. After you Save the PIR Record, RFQs will be generated for each Vendor that was listed on the PIR record. You can view the records from the RFQ subtab on the PIR Record.

Note: When you create an RFQ from the PIR record the data will be copied from the PIR to the RFQ only once at the time of creation. If you update your PIR directly or from the Opportunity, your updated data will not be updated on RFQ. For updating the RFQ from the PIR you will need to uncheck the checkbox GENERATE RFQ, save your PIR record, and check the checkbox GENERATE RFQ again. This will overwrite all the data in your existing RFQ with the updated data from the PIR.

Auto updating of the RFQ record upon PIR record change is restricted to avoid overwriting the data of the RFQ received from your Vendors through the RFQ's External Web Form. Your PIR will be updated if you update your Opportunity record.
