Overview

To use eXtendASI effectively for matrix items in your NetSuite account, you need to understand how color and size values work for matrix items in eXtendASI. Your NetSuite Administrator can set matrix item options on the eXtendASI Setup page.

Matrix Color and Size Fields (Administrator)



  1. MATRIX COLOR OPTION LIST FIELD
    This is the matrix color option field used in your account for storing the item color on the item record.
  2. MATRIX COLOR LIST ID
    This is the list which is used as the source for the MATRIX COLOR OPTION LIST FIELD.
  3. MATRIX SIZE OPTION LIST FIELD
    This is the matrix size option field used in your account for storing the item size on the item record.
  4. MATRIX SIZE LIST ID
    This is the list which is used as the source for the MATRIX SIZE OPTION LIST FIELD.

Scenarios for Color and Size Values (Administrator / User)

There are a few specific scenarios in which the color and size values received from ASI are added to the existing lists. They include:

  1. New Color/Size: If the item color or size doesn't currently exist in the list, a new entry will be created, complete with its name and abbreviation.
  2. Color Abbreviation Length: NetSuite has a character limit on matrix abbreviations. If the color abbreviation exceeds 15 characters, it will be trimmed. Should this result in a non-unique abbreviation, an error will occur. In this case, you will need to manually update the color list, ensuring the name matches the ASI listing, and create a unique abbreviation.
  3. Numeric Values in Color Name: If the color name includes numeric values, these will be removed when creating the color abbreviation. However, the original name, including the numeric value, will be retained as received from ASI.
