This article provides instructions on how to configure eXtendCOIA, a tool for managing customer-owned inventory in NetSuite.

Configuration

Follow these steps to configure eXtendCOIA in your NetSuite environment.

Setup Page Configuration

  1. Navigate to SetupeXtendCOIACOIA Setup.
  2. Configure the following fields:
    • ADJUSTMENT LOCATION: Specify the location to reflect available customer inventory for orders. This is where inventory will be allocated during the eXtendCOIA inventory adjustment process.
    • NetSuite OneWorld Note: When processing COIA, the customer must be within the same Subsidiary as the Adjustment Location.
    • INVENTORY ADJUSTMENT ACCOUNT: Specify the account to use for customer-owned inventory.
    • INVENTORY ADJUSTMENT BIN NUMBER: If using NetSuite's Advanced Bin Management, specify the inventory bin for the inventory adjustment record created by eXtendCOIA.
The Location associated with the selected Inventory Adjustment Bin Number must match the Adjustment Location.

Item Record Configuration

Configure these fields on your item records to set their COIA-related values:

  • eXtendTech COIA Inventory Owner: Specify the Inventory Owner (customer record reference) for this item's customer-owned inventory.
  • COIA Preferred Bin: If populated, eXtendCOIA will use this bin on the automatic inventory adjustment.
Do not specify a value here if NetSuite's Advanced Bin Management feature is not enabled in your account.

Sales Order Configuration

When processing a customer-owned inventory order, set the following fields:

  • Is eXtendTech COIA Customer Owned Inventory?: Check this box to indicate the Sales Order is for customer-owned inventory. We recommend using a specific custom sales order form when processing customer owned inventory orders so that this field can be defaulted.
  • eXtendTech COIA Inventory Owner: Specify this field on the line item (by default, it sources from the item record).

Inventory Adjustments will not be created for items fulfilled as Drop Ship items. The COIA process triggers when using Special Order items.
