Version: eXtendFiles 1.7.0 and above
Audience: Administrator

Overview

eXtendFiles 1.7 and later feature a more interactive and user-friendly configuration interface for managing features and settings. This article explains how to enable this new page in compatible accounts.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to NetSuite and eXtendFiles 1.7 or later installed in your account.
  • The legacy eXtendFiles Setup script deployment ID must be: CUSTOMDEPLOY_EXTEND_FILES_SETUP
If your deployment ID is currently customdeploy3 or any other value, you'll need to update it to CUSTOMDEPLOY_EXTEND_FILES_SETUP to ensure compatibility with the new configuration page. See the additional notes section below for more information.

Configuration

To enable the new configuration interface, you'll need to create a script deployment and add a center link. Follow the steps below:

Script Deployment

Create a new script deployment under the “eXtendFiles Suitelet” script to enable the configuration interface:

  1. Navigate to CustomizationScriptingScripts
  2. Locate and open the eXtendFiles Suitelet script
  3. Click Deploy Script and configure the following:
    • Set Status to Released
    • Set Log Level to Audit
    • Set Audience to Administrator role only (recommended)
  4. Configure the deployment settings:
    • Title: eXtendFiles Suitelet Solid Template
    • ID: customdeploy_extend_files_solid_stp_tmpl
    • Set script parameter eXtendTech Files Suitlet Deployment to solid_setup_templateImage Placeholder
  5. Save the deployment

Center Link Creation

Add the deployment link to your eXtendFiles center category:

  1. Go to Customization → Center and Tabs → Center Categories
  2. Locate and edit your eXtendFiles center category
  3. In the links section, search for eXtendFiles Suitelet Solid Template
  4. Add the link with name eXtendFiles Configuration (recommended for consistency)
  5. Save the center category to make the link available

  1. Navigate to CustomizationScriptingScripts
  2. Locate and open the eXtendFiles Suitelet script
  3. In the deployments list, find the entry titled "eXtendFiles Suitelet" and verify whether its script ID is set to CUSTOMDEPLOY_EXTEND_FILES_SETUP or needs updating

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Can I customize the name of the configuration link?
A: Yes, though we recommend using "eXtendFiles Configuration" for consistency as that is what eXtendFiles configuration instructions will refer to.
