This article explains the consequences of modifying the Amazon S3 bucket name in the eXtendFiles Setup page and provides guidance on managing multiple buckets.
Effects of Changing the S3 Bucket
- The File Sharing feature becomes non-functional for previously uploaded files
- Inability to generate Signed URLs for records in the old bucket
- Public files and those on approval forms remain accessible
Managing Multiple Buckets
To use multiple S3 buckets with eXtendFiles:
- Navigate to the eXtendFiles Setup page
- Locate the "Additional Buckets" field
- Enter additional bucket names in a comma-separated format
- Update the IAM policy in AWS to include all configured buckets
