Overview
The eXtendFiles Uploader can automatically
compress images during upload to reduce
bandwidth usage and improve upload
performance. Your NetSuite Administrator
controls these settings.
How compression quality works
- A higher percentage means more
compression (smaller files).
- A lower percentage means less
compression (larger files, closer
to the original).
- If compression fails for any reason, the
app uploads the original file instead.
Configuration options (cellular vs Wi‑Fi vs
disabled)
You can configure compression behavior
separately for different network
conditions:
- Mobile/Cellular: Compression
settings that apply when the device is
using cellular data.
- Wi‑Fi: Compression settings that
apply when the device is connected to
Wi‑Fi.
- Disabled: Compression is turned off
(the original image is uploaded without
compression) when set to 0%.
Set up compression preferences

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: What happens if compression
fails?
A: If compression doesn't work, your
original file is uploaded instead.
Q: Does compression work for all
types of uploads?
A: Yes. Compression applies to both
camera captures and uploads from local
storage.
Q: What does a higher compression
percentage do?
A: It compresses the image more,
which typically reduces file size but can
reduce image quality.
Q: What if image compression
quality is set to 0%?
A: Compression is skipped and the
original image is uploaded without
compression.
