Change Overview

With NetSuite 2023.2, NetSuite is making the following modifications to Formula (Text) fields:

  • Formula (Text) fields that contain HTML code will only display results as plain text to improve the security of saved searches.
  • After 2023.2, you need to use a Formula (HTML) field to evaluate HTML code within a saved search.
  • Formula (HTML) fields can only be used as results fields and are only available to users with the Create HTML Formulas in Search permission.
See more information in SuiteAnswers: Executing Code in Saved Searches Using Formula (HTML) Fields.

As a result of the modification and to prevent issues with your searches, you should replace your Formula (Text) fields with the new Formula (HTML) field.

Change Impact

Some eXtendTech bundles use Formula (Text) fields that contain HTML code. To ensure that the HTML code continues to function properly, these Formula (Text) fields will need to be replaced with Formula (HTML) fields.

In most cases, you only need to replace the Formula (Text) field with the new Formula (HTML) field from a role that has the necessary permissions to make the modification.

  1. Navigate to Lists Search Saved Searches with HTML in Formula(Text) to display the list of saved searches in your account which contain HTML in a Formula (Text) field.

  2. View the Results tab, find the Formula (Text) field which contains HTML code and then replace it with the Formula (HTML) field.
