NetSuite has announced that scripts using
SuiteScript 1.0, 2.0, or 2.x versions will
stop working in NetSuite 2028.2. NetSuite
Customers may see an “Update Needed:
Update Scripts to SuiteScript 2.1” banner in their NetSuite account.

What does this notice mean?
The notice indicates that one or more
scripts installed in your NetSuite account
use a SuiteScript version that NetSuite
plans to discontinue.
The banner applies to the entire NetSuite
account. Its appearance does not
necessarily mean that an eXtendTech
application is affected. Scripts from
other SuiteBundles, SuiteApps,
customizations, and integrations may also
trigger the notice.
Is immediate action required?
No immediate action is required. NetSuite
has provided advance notice so affected
scripts can be identified, evaluated, and
updated before NetSuite 2028.2.
Do not deactivate or modify scripts based
solely on this banner. Doing so could
interrupt applications, integrations, or
custom processes that rely on them.
How is eXtendTech addressing this
change?
eXtendTech is reviewing its active
applications and integrations to identify
components that may require updates.
- Actively subscribed products: Required SuiteScript 2.1 compatibility
updates will be included as part of
the active subscription.
- Legacy products and custom
work: Applications,
integrations, or customizations not
covered by an active subscription or
maintenance agreement will be reviewed
individually. If updates are required,
please reach out to support@extendtech.net and
eXtendTech will assess the work and
provide a separate scope and
quote.
- Other scripts: Scripts
installed by another provider or
created internally are not maintained
by eXtendTech. Contact the applicable
provider or your NetSuite
administrator to determine the
appropriate next steps.
What should I do?
If you receive this notice and have
questions about an eXtendTech product or
customization:
- Contact the eXtendTech support
team.
- Provide any affected script or
application details available in your
account.
- Do not deactivate or modify the
scripts.
Our team will review the applicable
eXtendTech components and confirm whether
any action is required.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will my eXtendTech application stop
working now?
No. NetSuite’s announced removal is
scheduled for NetSuite 2028.2. The banner
is an advance notice rather than an
indication that a script has already
stopped working.
Does the banner confirm that an eXtendTech
script is affected?
No. The notice may be triggered by any
applicable script in your NetSuite
account, including scripts from other
providers or internal
customizations.
Will I be charged for an update?
Compatibility updates required for an
actively subscribed eXtendTech product are
included as part of the
subscription.
Legacy products, integrations, and
customizations without an active
subscription or maintenance agreement will
require an individual assessment. If
changes are needed, eXtendTech will
provide a scope and quote before beginning
the work.
Should I update or deactivate the scripts
myself?
No. Changing or deactivating a script
without first determining its purpose
could disrupt an application, integration,
or business process. Contact the script
provider or your NetSuite administrator
before making changes.
