The behavior is applicable only for assembly items: The assembly components will be shown as parts over matrix children based on the active BOM revision record of the assembly item. It considers the BOM revision record where the current date falls under the effective date specified on BOM revision. 

When returning assembly components in the Product Data and Inventory services, eXtendPS-SE will adhere to the Bill of Materials (BOM) definition. This applies to the following services:

Note: It is also possible to suppress all assembly components at the item level or the global level, so that they are shown as parts in the applicable services.
