Version: eXtendFiles 1.5.3 and above
Audience: Administrator

Overview

To use Microsoft OneDrive/SharePoint as your storage back-end, you will need to ensure that the chosen SharePoint Directory is configured to allow for External Sharing for the Site.

To test if you are currently configured for external sharing in SharePoint, you can upload a file to your chosen SharePoint directory and attempt to create an external link for the file, or your Microsoft 365 Administrator can verify that your SharePoint sharing settings are configured to allow Anyone to share external links.

When using User Based File Upload In OneDrive, all users must authenticate using the same configured Microsoft 365 tenant. In other words, if eXtendFiles is authenticated to a SharePoint site hosted in Microsoft 365 at mydomain.com, users who can upload files must also have Microsoft 365 accounts from mydomain.com and with matching email addresses in NetSuite.

Verifying Permissions via File Upload

1. Navigate to the directory which you wish to use with eXtendFiles and upload a file. See Create Directory in SharePoint for use with eXtendFiles if you have not yet created a SharePoint directory to be used with eXtendFiles.

2. Right-click the uploaded file and click Share.

3. In the sharing dialog, confirm that the Anyone with the link option is available for use.

4. Click the Copy Link button to confirm that you can generate and access the external sharing link for the file.

If the Anyone with the link option is not available, have your Microsoft 365 Administrator enable External Sharing for your Site to enable the "Anyone" sharing option.
