Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Will this affect existing
preview and thumbnails?
A: No, this setting only affects
files uploaded after the change.
Q: I have preview and thumbnails
turned on, but they don't seem to be
generating?
A: If you're in a Sandbox or Release
Preview environment, confirm that file
migration and file conversion processes
(thumbnail and preview generation) aren't
disabled (see Restricting File
Migration and File Conversion in
Sandbox & Release Preview
Environments). If they aren't
disabled or you're in a Production
environment, see eXtendFiles Preview
& Thumbnail Generation.
Q: Are there file
size limitations for preview and
thumbnail generation?
A: Without a dedicated image conversion service, file conversion for preview and thumbnail images is limited to files smaller than 200 MB. Larger files won't be sent for conversion due to their exponential increase in conversion time and potential delays in the shared conversion queue. When using a dedicated file conversion service (available as an eXtendFiles add-on), files larger than 200 MB will be considered for file conversion as well.
