Overview

With eXtendFiles, you can set the file type for the file or files you are uploading.

Using file types allows you to leverage native NetSuite power to perform saved searches, automations or processes on specific files based on their file type.

Use the file type field while creating or editing an eXtendFile record to set the type for the file.

Usage

Standalone upload

1. Create a new eXtendFiles record or edit an existing eXtendFiles record.

2. Select the entry from the File Type (Custom) field for your file.

3. If creating a new file, select your file for upload and then Save the eXtendFiles record. If editing an existing file, simply Save the eXtendFiles record after setting the file type.

Inline upload

If inline upload has been configured with file types by your NetSuite Administrator, you can also set file types during an inline upload.

1. Open the record where you want to upload a file.

2. In the inline uploader, specify the file type to be assigned to your file. Note that the exact naming of the field may be different depending on the configurations added in your account.

3. Upload your file.

Public upload

If public upload has been configured with file types by your NetSuite Administrator, you can also set file types during a public upload.

1. Open the public upload link for the record where you want to upload a file.

2. Specify the file type to be assigned to your file. Note that the exact naming of the field may be different depending on the configurations added in your account.

3. Upload your file.
