Overview
When you need to remove an
eXtendFiles record, it is important to understand the
difference between removing the eXtendFiles record reference and deleting the actual file
that was uploaded to your cloud storage.
Removing an eXtendFile Record
Removing an eXtendFiles record only
removes the association between the eXtendFiles record and a
specific NetSuite record. The "Remove" link shown in the eXtendFiles sublist is a native NetSuite feature. This link can be found by scrolling to the far right of the list. By clicking this link, you will remove the relationship between your eXtendFiles record and the record it is associated with. The eXtendFiles record will remain in NetSuite, and your file will remain in your cloud storage.
Deleting an eXtendFile Record
Deleting an eXtendFiles record removes both the NetSuite record and the file from your cloud storage. To delete an eXtendFile record:
- Open the eXtendFiles record in Edit mode
- Choose "Delete" from the Actions menu
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I control whether files are
deleted from cloud storage when I
delete an eXtendFile
record?
A: Yes, there is a
preference in the eXtendFiles Setup page
that enables or disables file deletion
from your cloud storage. Your NetSuite
Administrator should refer to the article
"Configure eXtendFiles
to Delete Backend Storage File Upon
eXtendFile Deletion" to ensure
your account is configured correctly for
your needs.
Q: Why isn't the Delete option showing under Actions?
A: If you don't see the Delete option under Actions, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- NetSuite permissions: You may not have the necessary permissions to delete records
- Form configuration: The Delete option may not be configured to appear on your form
If you're experiencing this issue, please contact your NetSuite Administrator for assistance.
