Overview

When the File Type to Bucket Mapping feature is configured, use the File Type selection in eXtendFiles to upload files to the correct backend storage location automatically.

When your NetSuite Administrator configures file type to bucket mapping, each File Type can be connected to a specific storage folder or bucket. During upload, you select the correct File Type, and eXtendFiles uses the configured destination automatically.

Prerequisites

Before you use file type to bucket mapping, your NetSuite Administrator must configure the feature.

The administrator must:

  • Create the required eXtendFiles - Folder Information records.
  • Configure the eXtendFiles - FileType to Bucket Mapping records.
  • Make the applicable File Type options available for your upload process.
  • Enable the feature.

If the expected File Type option is missing or the file does not upload to the expected location, contact your NetSuite Administrator.

Usage

Use the configured File Type during upload so eXtendFiles can route the file to the correct storage location.

Upload a file with a file type

  1. Open the NetSuite record where you want to upload the file.
  2. In the File Type field in the eXtendFiles uploader, select the file type that matches the document you're uploading.
  3. Complete any other required fields.
  4. Select your file(s) for upload.

After the upload is complete, eXtendFiles stores the file in the folder or bucket mapped to the selected File Type.
