Overview
eXtendFiles supports file versioning when paired with compatible storage providers. Versioning lets you keep older copies of files so you can review changes or restore a previous version when needed.

Prerequisites
- You have admin access to your storage provider.
- Your storage provider supports object/file versioning (see the sections below).
Configuration
Enable (or confirm) versioning in your storage provider, then verify that version history is available for files stored by eXtendFiles.
Amazon S3
- Follow Amazon’s instructions for Enabling versioning on buckets.

Dropbox
Versioning is enabled by default for Dropbox accounts.
Dropbox automatically tracks changes for a specific period (30, 180, or 365 days) depending on your plan. There is no manual “enable” button, but you should confirm your plan supports the retention period your business requires.
