Prerequisites
- eXtendFiles must be configured with the additional buckets whose folders you will be using for the file upload. See the related Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, or Oracle Object Storage article for adding additional buckets.
- The eXtendFiles - Folder Information custom record must be created for the folders where your files will be uploaded. Configure Folder Information records to Upload Files to Specific Folders in eXtendFiles
- To utilize this feature in the inline upload and public file upload features, you must make sure that the FOLDER INFORMATION RECORD FIELD ID is specified on those record types.
Contact your NetSuite Administrator regarding the prerequisites above.
Using Folder Upload
Uploading eXtendFiles from the eXtendFiles Sublist (Standalone upload)
- Go to the NetSuite record where you want to upload an eXtendFiles record.
- Go to the eXtendFiles subtab.
- Click New eXtendFiles.
- The eXtendFiles record will open for uploading your file(s).
- Navigate to record references subtab and select the folder in the EXTENDFILES - FOLDER INFORMATION field where you want your file to be saved. Note that this field may be in a different location depending on the form configuration in your environment.Note: this step must be done before uploading the file.
- Upload your file.
- After the file has uploaded, save the record.
Uploading files using Inline Upload
- Edit the NetSuite record where you want to upload an eXtendFiles record.
- Navigate to the eXtendFiles subtab and select the folder where you want your files to be uploaded in the FILES FOLDER INFORMATION field.Note: If this field is not visible, please contact your NetSuite Administrator.
- Save your record.
- Upload your file(s) using inline upload.
- The files uploaded will be added to the specified folder selected in the FILES FOLDER INFORMATION field.
Uploading files using Public Upload
- Open the NetSuite record which is using public upload in edit mode.
- Navigate to the eXtendFiles subtab and select the folder where you want your files to be uploaded in the FILES FOLDER INFORMATION field.Note: If this field is not visible, please contact your NetSuite Administrator.
- If not already generated, use the FILES GENERATE PUBLIC FILE UPLOAD LINK checkbox to generate a public file upload link. Note: Depending on the configuration in your environment, this field may have a different name.
- Save your record.
- Click the link present in the FILES PUBLIC FILE UPLOAD URL field.Note: Depending on the configuration in your environment, this field may have a different name.
- This will open public upload page. Upload your file(s).
- The files uploaded will be added to the specified folder selected in the FILES FOLDER INFORMATION field.
