Overview
The eXtendFiles Inline Upload
feature allows you to upload files directly on
your NetSuite records using a drag and drop
upload area.
Prerequisites
The eXtendFiles Inline Upload
feature must be configured by your NetSuite
Administrator.
Features
Inline file upload supports
following:
- Option
to set
metadata fields on the
resulting eXtendFiles record, such as
file type, category, or your own
custom fields.
- Mark certain metadata fields
mandatory.
- Ability to upload
files at
line level.
- Form placement using native NetSuite
custom form configurations.
- It can be configured on almost
any
NetSuite record type.
Usage
After configuration, you can upload files to your records using the drag-and-drop upload area in either Edit Mode or View Mode. View Mode is recommended. Create Mode is not supported at this time.
Uploading Files
- Go to a record that has inline
upload functionality
enabled.
- Use the "Click To Upload" button or the drag and drop area to upload your file. Which version shows depends on whether customized uploader fields are configured.

With customized uploader fields or modal-enabled configuration.
With no customized uploader fields and modal-disabled configuration. - If prompted to set customized uploader fields, add the appropriate attributes to your files.

- Your files will be uploaded and associated with your record.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: How many files can I upload at once?
A: Due to NetSuite's SuiteScript governance constraints, you can upload up to 15 files at once. After the first upload completes, you can submit another batch of up to 15 files.
Q: Can I use this feature in Create Mode?
A: No, Create Mode is not supported. You can use the feature in Edit Mode or View Mode, with View Mode being recommended.
