Overview
This article explains how to install and update the eXtendMobile app. It covers standard app store installs/updates (Apple App Store for iPhone/iPad and Google Play Store for Android) and what to expect when an in-app update is required.
Prerequisites
- A compatible device and OS version
- Internet access on the device
For device/OS compatibility, review the eXtendMobile System Requirements:
Download eXtendMobile from the Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad)
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store.
- Search for eXtendMobile.
- Tap Get, then confirm the install (Face ID/Touch ID/Apple ID password, if prompted).

- On your Android device, open the Google Play Store.
- Search for eXtendMobile.
- Tap Install.

Updating the eXtendMobile App
eXtendMobile updates are typically delivered through the native app store update process (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
If you are using a managed device (MDM), your organization’s IT department may control when updates are applied. Contact your IT department for upgrade details.
Emergency OTA Updates (In-App Update Prompt)
In some cases, an emergency over-the-air (OTA) update may be required. When this happens, you will see an in-app notification indicating an update is available.
- Update available indicator: A dot/notification will appear on the profile icon. Tap to open the menu.

- When on Wi-Fi: The update downloads automatically. After the download completes, you will be prompted to restart the app to apply the update.
- When on mobile data: You will be prompted to start the download. After the download completes, you will be prompted to restart the app to apply the update.

- Tap Tap to restart to restart eXtendMobile and complete the update.
