Problem

When using eXtendOrders, you might notice that the Purchase Order's Description field on your line items does not show the size and color information, even though this information is usually populated during processing.

Cause

The cause of this issue is usually the Copy From Sales Order preference on your items. This preference instructs NetSuite to use the Sales Order Description from the related line on the Sales Order, rather than the Purchase Description which is configured on the item record itself.

Solution

To resolve this issue, you need to adjust the Copy From Sales Order preference for your items:

  • If Copy From Sales Order is checked: The Description from the Sales Order will be used on the Purchase Order. This should include the size and color information.
  • If Copy From Sales Order is unchecked: The Purchase Description from the item record will be used on the Purchase Order, and the size and color information may not be included.

According to NetSuite field help for Copy From Sales Order: "Check this box to copy the purchase description from the item description you enter on a sales order. Clear this box to enter a purchase description in the field above."

By following these steps, you should be able to ensure that the Description field on your Purchase Order correctly displays the Size and Color information for your items.
