Version: eXtendFiles all versions
Audience: Administrator, User

The eXtendFiles SuiteApp includes a custom list and custom field that enable segmentation of different types of files, file classifications, and file sharing permissions. The field references are listed below.

Custom List:
  • Name: eXtendFiles - Files Types
  • ID: customlist_extend_s3fr_recordtypeImage Placeholder
Custom Field:
  • eXtendFiles - File Type (Custom)
  • ID: custrecord_extfile_type_custlist

To ensure proper functionality of eXtendFiles, follow these guidelines:

  1. The eXtendFiles - File Type (Custom) field should remain associated with the eXtendFiles - Files Types list. Do not associate it with a different custom list.

  2. Do not convert the eXtendFiles - Files Types custom list to a custom record.

  3. You may choose to inactivate the default values in the eXtendFiles - Files Types custom list, but do not rename or remove them. If you want to create your own list of file types within the custom list, do not delete any of the out-of-the-box custom list entries. Instead, 'inactivate' the entries that you do not want to use and add your own new file types to the list.

Note: If you are using eXtendOrders with eXtendFiles, do not inactivate the "Original Artwork" file type without first confirming that it (or other file types) is not being used in your eXtendOrders File Picker upload. For more information, refer to the EXTENDFILES ADDITIONAL URL PARAM field in the eXtendOrders Setup Configuration.

  4. Be cautious when modifying list values that have been added, as configured eXtendFiles functionality may depend on them depending on your specific implementation and configuration of eXtendFiles.
These recommendations are necessary because of future updates or releases of the eXtendFiles SuiteApp that may be deployed to your account. As a managed bundle application, we push out updates of our SuiteApp to all clients to ensure you are always running on the latest and greatest release. Failure to follow these best practices may result in unexpected issues.
