Problem

After submission for item constitution, you may receive one of the following error messages after the processing is complete:
  • "A child item with that combination of options already exists"
  • "This item is already constituted. {item internal id}."

Solution

Make sure the item hasn't been previously created with the same name as the one you are trying to constitute.

Example: Confirm that a matrix subitem with the same combination of color(s) and size(s) does not already exist.

Note: Even if the existing matrix subitem as Inactive, you will still receive this error as NetSuite doesn't allow duplicate item names for the same item type.
